Such a wonderful local market!! Our favorite place to get ground beef, steaks and stuffed Jalapeño’s. We also love the selection of frozen veggies. The owners & staff are great and actually care about what you’re looking to buy. The place looks clean, smells clean and is well setup and spacious.

I recently visited Market Behind the Square, and it is officially my new go-to for quality meat in Denton! The selection of steaks is impressive, and the quality is absolutely top-notch. It’s rare to find such high-end cuts at such reasonable prices. Beyond the great meat, the customer service was fantastic—they are clearly knowledgeable and take pride in what they do. They have a great variety of other items in the store as well. If you’re looking for a great local butcher, definitely check them out!

Give me all that Wagyu! Man, this place has the best selections. Need Wagyu steak? They got it. Need some choice cut steaks? They have it. Need slab bacon or perhaps slab pork belly for you to make your own bacon? They indeed have that too. What about huge baking potatoes to go with that meat? How about vacuum packing that steak you just bought so you can freeze it when you get home? They’ll do that for ya! Or some local jams and honey? Or some frozen veggies and frozen beans? Yup, they have it all. Definitely impressed with the selection’s here. And the people that run the joint are top notch. It’s almost like stepping into a time capsule of that old fashioned quality customer service. The stuff you see in classic movies. It’s clean. Prices are great. And it’s right off the Denton square. Definitely going back for more.

My husband got himself a smoker and wanted to try to smoke steaks for the first time ever. We stopped by and were instantly so happy with how welcoming everyone was. The store is very clean. The older gentleman was so sweet. He even recommended cooking temps to my husband since I’m pregnant. And the steaks came out absolutely delicious!He explained the cleanliness of the chickens and how they wouldn’t harm me or my baby. Definitely returning customers.

Came in for the pickled selection and left with some B Xtreme BBQ Steak Dust seasoning and two huge, beautiful ribeyes. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The store had a great selection and was very clean... NOW let me tell you that these were hands down probably some of the best steaks I've ever had in my life. Cooked to a medium rare and then seared for a minute on each side... They were absolutely and downright the epitome of flavor and texture. I will be back. That's a promise.
